INTOXICATED SUSPECT LEADS DEPUTIES ON PURSUIT
On Monday, May 22, 2023, Precinct 8 Sergeant Toliver was traveling in the 5900 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy N when he observed a pickup accelerate to a high rate of speed.
Sergeant Toliver activated his emergency equipment in attempt to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop in the 2200 block of Whispering Manor Ln. The suspect exited the vehicle but failed to comply with commands. Sergeant Toliver was able to use his TASER to safely subdue him, and the suspect was apprehended. The suspect was identified as 37 year old Luis Alonso Pacheco II. Pacheco displayed multiple signs of intoxication. Further investigation revealed Pacheco was intoxicated and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted a felony charge for Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated. Pacheco was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at a total of $15,100.
