Precinct 8 Deputies Webber and Margison foil car thieves driving at high speeds on the Gulf Freeway.

DEPUTIES RECOVER TWO STOLEN VEHICLES On Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at approximately 11:52 PM, Precinct 8 Deputies Webber and Margison with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office were traveling southbound on the Gulf Freeway and observed four cars traveling in unison at a high rate of speed. All four vehicles were observed to exit Nasa Parkway and turn into the parking lot at 1020 W Nasa Pkwy. A check of the vehicle’s license plates returned with two stolen hits. A black Chevrolet Camaro returned to be stolen through Houston Police Department and a red Chevrolet Camaro returned to be stolen through Lewisville Police Department. Deputies made contact and located the two suspected drivers of the stolen vehicles who were identified as 19 year old William Bonnie Martinez and 19 year old Thomas Jaydn Porter. Deputies conducted a search of both vehicles and located two handguns in the red Camaro. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Unauthorized Use of Vehicle on both Martinez and Porter. Both subjects were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where Martinez’s bond was set at $1,000 and Porter’s bond was set at $10,000.

Precinct 8 traffic stop leads to arrest of a PFF (paroled fool felon) Charles Henry Ewing Jr with narcotics and firearm.

FELON FOUND IN POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS AND WEAPON On Monday, August 28, 2023 at approximately 5:56 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy A. Peters with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office conducted a traffic stops in the 11400 block of the Gulf Freeway for multiple traffic infractions. Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Peters detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 45 year old Charles Henry Ewing Jr. Ewing was directed to step out of the vehicle and detained. Deputy Peters proceeded to conduct a probable cause based search and located a large amount of U.S. currency, 39.5 grams of crack cocaine, 112 grams of powder cocaine, 3.79 ounces of marijuana and a Ruger 5.7 pistol. Deputies also located drug paraphernalia indicative to the distribution and delivery of narcotics. The amount of U.S. currency totaled $1,275. Harris County Constable Precinct 2 Deputy Parker and his K-9 partner arrived to assist in the investigation, and the K-9 unit positively alerted on the contraband. The Asset Forfeiture division was contacted and accepted the seizure of the U.S. currency. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Felon in Possession of Weapon. Ewing was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at $40,000 total. He was released on August 30, 2023 after posting bond. At the time of Ewing’s arrest, he was currently out on parole until 2028.

Precinct 8 Deputy Morgan had to go on a wild high speed chase to stop a 🤡 with an assist of a tree.

SUBJECT LEADS DEPUTIES ON PURSUIT On Sunday, August 13, 2023 at approximately 1:45 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy Morgan with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was conducting narcotic interdiction in the 9900 block of Bessemer St. While patrolling the area, Deputy Morgan observed a suspicious vehicle exit a business known for high narcotic activity. Deputy Morgan activated his emergency equipment in attempt to initiate a traffic stop for multiple traffic infractions and observed an item thrown out of the passenger side. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle accelerated to speeds over 110 MPH nearly striking multiple vehicles as it disregarded stop signs. The vehicle lost control near the intersection of Kenilwood Dr. and Crestmont St. and crashed into a tree. The driver exited the vehicle and began to walk towards Deputy Morgan refusing to comply to deputies commands. Deputy Morgan deployed his Taser and safely subdued the driver. The driver was placed in custody and identified as 56 year old Willie Lee Randle Jr. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted a felony charge for Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. Randle was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $5,000.to stop a

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY ARREST On Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at approximately 1:43 AM, Deputy M. Self with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office observed a vehicle make several lane changes without signaling in the 2000 block of Nasa Pkwy. Deputy Self initiated at traffic stop on the vehicle in the 18100 block of Houston Methodist Dr. Upon contact with the driver, Deputy Self detected the odor of marijuana and alcoholic beverage and observed a bag containing marijuana on the floorboard. The driver was detained and identified as 29 year old Silva Zuniga Alondra Monserrat. Deputy Self conducted a search of the vehicle and located 38 grams of cocaine, 20 grams of methamphetamine, 11.35 grams of Xanax, 375 grams of marijuana, $1,181 in U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia consistent with narcotic distribution. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted two felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. The Asset Forfeiture division was contacted and accepted the seizure of the U.S. currency. Alondra was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where her bonds were set at $20,000 total.

August 4th Precinct 8 Sergeant Williams stopped another menace to society 🤡 Pedro Garcia III as it turnrd out he was wanted for felony warrants.

WANTED MALE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS

On Friday, August 4, 2023 at approximately 6:19 PM, Precinct 8 Sergeant Williams with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office received an alert of a prohibited vehicle traveling on the toll road. Sergeant Williams located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the 5500 block of Fairmont Pkwy. The driver was identified as 44 year old Pedro Garcia III. A check of Garcia’s information revealed three open felony warrants through Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Williams conducted a search of the vehicle incident to arrest and located .54 grams of methamphetamine.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted additional charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Garcia was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $2,000.

MAN FOUND IN POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS FOLLOWING PURSUIT On Sunday, July 30, 2023 at approximately 2:34 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy Morgan with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was conducting narcotic interdiction in the 10000 block of Bessemer St when he observed a white GMC pickup traveling at high rate of speed. Deputy Morgan activated his emergency equipment in attempt to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop in the 8300 block of Delwin St. The driver was apprehended and identified as 29 year old Francisco Javier Moreno. Deputy Morgan conducted a search and located 17 grams of Xanax, 2 ounces of marijuana, multiple THC cartridges and edibles, and individually packaged bags containing a total of 21 grams of cocaine. A further search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia consistent with narcotic distribution. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle. Moreno was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at $25,000 for the narcotic charge and $10,000 for evading.
