The Pasadena Police Department is incredibly proud of Officer David Garza for his continuous support and contributions to the Pasadena community. This year marks the 9th consecutive year of his impactful Blue Backpack Giveaway, and it may have been the best one yet!
As Officer Garza proudly stated – “Our 9th annual Blue Backpack Giveaway was our biggest event to date! This program is near and dear to my heart because of the hardships that my own family faced while I was growing up. Every year, I work to pay it forward to the community that I have dedicated my career to serving.”
It was a team effort with generous support and contributions from the city’s council members, corporate sponsors, Pasadena Deputy Fire Marshal E. Vega, Lieutenant M.P. Jackson, and Chief Wright. Over 100 kids were provided backpacks and school supplies, ensuring they have all the tools they need for a successful school year.
Officer Garza greatly appreciates the community’s support and the effort of all volunteers who made this event a resounding success. He also extends his heartfelt thanks to Chief Wright for his support in continuing the Blue Backpack Giveaway tradition.
