SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER BURGLARIZING 42 VEHICLES
Precinct 8 Investigators arrested a burglary suspect this week after an extensive investigation. Multiple vehicle burglaries committed by the suspect occurred on August 9, 2024 at the Caroline Apartments, located in the 1200 block of E Nasa Pkwy, where 42 vehicles were burglarized. Among them was a marked patrol vehicle. Through the course of the investigation, Precinct 8 Investigators identified 23 year old Dalen Traell Bright as the suspect and obtained a search warrant for his residence and arrest warrants for Burglary of Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief. On August 27, 2024, members of the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division and our Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Bright’s residence in the 700 block of Preston Ave. in Pasadena. During the search, deputies located a handgun, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics. A further search of the residence yielded multiple stolen items including stolen police equipment. Precinct 8 Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle and Bright was placed under arrest for the active warrants. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle incident to arrest and located a black mask and multiple window breaking tools. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted additional charges for Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Criminal Instrument, but declined Theft charges for possession of the stolen property. Bright was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bonds were set at a total of $40,100. Bright was later released on a Personal Bond.
