On April 30, 2025, the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Cedar St., in Deer Park after a lengthy investigation regarding the sale of narcotics. Deputies located 8.62 lbs. of Marijuana, and 22 orange pills labeled AD30, believed to be Adderall, and two firearms inside the residence. The subject, 21-year-old Robert John Smith Jr., was released at the scene pending test results of the narcotics located. The results returned and found the orange pills labeled AD30 tested positive for Methamphetamine and not Adderall. An arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Smith for Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute.
On June 9, 2025, members of the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit were conducting surveillance on the residence when Mr. Smith left the location. Mr. Smith was eventually stopped and arrested for his warrant. Mr. Smith was found to have approximately 1.354 ounces of Marijuana in his left front pocket. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted regarding the Marijuana found in Mr. Smith’s possession but declined charges due to having the PCS warrant. Mr. Smith was transported to JPC, where he was booked without incident.
