(all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty)
• On Friday, July 18th, at approximately 2:00AM, an LPPD officer was dispatched to a disturbance in the 200 block of E. Fairmont. Upon arrival, an officer observed an adult male, on a second-floor apartment balcony laying on the ground. As a result of the investigation it was determined no one wanted to pursue charges for the disturbance. While investigating the disturbance officers determined the adult male was in a public place; was a danger to himself and or the public due to intoxication. The male was taken into custody and transported to the La Porte Jail for Public Intoxication (PI), without incident.
• On Friday, July 18th, at approximately 5:00AM, an LPPD officer was patrolling Little Cedar Bayou Park when he observed an adult male on a bicycle, inside the park past closing hours. The contact and subsequent investigation resulted in the adult male being taken into custody for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (POM). The male was taken to the La Porte Jail without incident.
• On Friday, July 18th, at approximately 11:00AM, an LPPD officer conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of E G Street for a missing license plate. As a result of the traffic stop, it was discovered the adult female driver had an outstanding warrant from the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The warrant was confirmed, the female placed in custody and taken to the La Porte Jail for transfer to ICE representatives.
• On Friday, July 18th, at approximately 3:30PM, while on patrol in the 8900 block of Spencer Hwy, an LPPD officer conducted a welfare check on an adult male laying on the ground in front of a business. The officer determined the male was in a public place; was a danger to himself and or the public due to intoxication. The male was taken into custody and transported to the La Porte Jail for Public Intoxication, without incident.
• On Sunday, July 20th, at 7:30AM, LPPD officers were dispatched to the 10400 block of W. Fairmont for the report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle owner stated he was giving an adult female acquaintance a ride home when he stopped to get gas. While paying for the gas, she drove away with his truck. A responding LPPD officer located the stolen vehicle on the way to the call location. The vehicle was stopped, and the female was detained. As a result of the investigation, the female showed signs of intoxication and was taken into custody for the suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Upon notification of the recovered vehicle the victim did not want to pursue criminal charges. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office (HCDAO) was contacted and accepted the charge of DWI on the female. After the investigation, the owner of the stolen truck was found to have an outstanding warrant from multiple agencies. The male was taken into custody and transferred to another agency for one of the warrants. During the inventory of the vehicle, incident to arrest, a pistol was located and was reported to be stolen out of the City of Houston. HCDAO was again contacted and declined the charge of possession of a stolen weapon pending further investigation. The pistol was seized for evidence.
• On Sunday, July 20th, at approximately 3:00PM, while on patrol in the 10600 block of W. Fairmont a LPPD officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a closed business. Upon contact with the adult male occupant and known narcotics user, the officer was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search, a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine was found. The HCDAO was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (PCS), Penalty Group 1 (PG1). The male was taken into custody and transported to the La Porte jail without incident.
• On Monday, July 21st, at approximately 10:00PM, an LPPD officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of South SH 146 for an adult male displaying erratic and unusual behavior, while standing near a vehicle in the parking lot. During the investigation, the officer believed the male was a danger to himself and or the public due to intoxication. The male was taken into custody PI. As a result of the arrest the male’s vehicle was inventoried for impoundment. During the inventory officers located multiple unprescribed pills. The HCDAO was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG3. The male was transported to the La Porte Jail and processed for the greater charge of PCS.
