The dedication at PPD and two unsung heroes at the department are redefining excellence through relentless training in criminal justice.

Training at the Pasadena Police Department doesn’t stop with just our officers. Our agency couldn’t function without the incredible work of our civilian personnel. That’s why the department fully supports sending any officer or civilian to ongoing training opportunities throughout the year.
What is truly commendable, are those who take the initiative to seek out classes and push their training even further. Most recently, our own Records team members, B. Licona and J. Bonilla did just that.
This week, they completed a two-day conference focused on professional development and continuing education in the criminal justice system. The training covered a wide range of important topics, including:
• CJIS Technical Audits & Assessments
• National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)
• Criminal History Reporting (CHR)
• Terrorist Offender Registry (TOR)
• Sex Offender Registry (SOR)
• Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC)
• TXGang
• Civil Criminal Records: Employment, Licensing, Volunteering
• Biometric Services
We’re especially grateful that they’ve chosen to attend this training for three consecutive years, learning every update and enhancement in these systems. That kind of dedication and consistency speaks volumes about their commitment to their profession and our officers. They’re truly the go-to experts when it comes to these critical topics.
