On April 16, 2025, Harris County Precinct 8 Constable Investigators and members of the department’s Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance at multiple locations in order to and execute arrest warrants for defendants stemming from a long-term criminal investigation we first told you about back in February.
On February 26th of this year, a search warrant was served at My City Hemp, located at 517 El Dorado Blvd., based on facts gathered during an investigation into this business. Over 93 pounds of marijuana was seized during that search and was submitted for laboratory testing. The results confirmed the substance was positive for marijuana and not hemp as suspected. Additional items seized were determined to be Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, which is a controlled substance. 52-year-old Jason Moreno, who was inside the business at the time the search was conducted, was found to be possession of a firearm. He was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and his bond was set at $5,000.
Once the test results for the narcotics were received, arrest warrants were issued on Jason Moreno, 53-year-old Maria Moreno and 18-year-old Kevin Moreno for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. These warrants were executed on April 16th and Kevin and Jason Moreno were taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, Kevin Moreno was found to be in possession of an additional 46.81 pounds of marijuana.
Based on intelligence gathered during the service of these arrest warrants, another search warrant was obtained for My City Hemp. Upon execution, 48.12 lbs. of marijuana was located inside the business. The narcotics as well as US Currency was seized.
Concurrent search warrants related to this case were executed at a private residence in Galveston County by the Galveston County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office and the League City Police Department. During that search, 1 lb of marijuana, 7.5 lbs of Delta 9, 1 shotgun and US currency was seized.
