Armadillos, now officially the Mexican long-nosed armadillo, have traded in their old name for a brand-new identity.

Armadillos are not only almost blind during the day 👀—they also have undergone a name change! The Texas state small mammal is now the Mexican long-nosed armadillo after scientists discovered that the nine-banded armadillo is actually FOUR distinct species!
