On Monday, February 3, 2025, we proudly witnessed a momentous occasion as Raul Granados was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant at the Pasadena Police Department.
Lieutenant Granados’s unwavering dedication to service and his community was evident in every step of his career. His promotion ceremony was a true celebration of his commitment, drawing a full house of officers from all shifts and divisions, along with our dedicated civilian personnel. The event was made even more special with community leaders in attendance, including Mayor Wagner and several council members, all gathering to honor this significant milestone.
Chief Wright had the privilege of delivering the promotion ceremony speech, highlighting Lieutenant Granados’s hard work, leadership, and the lasting impact he has had on his fellow officers and the department as a whole. The Chief spoke with pride, recognizing not only Granados’s professional accomplishments but also the personal qualities that make him a respected and admired leader.
The celebration was not complete without the presence of his most ardent supporters—his loving wife, Susi Granados; daughter Jasmine; son Raul II Granados; and many family members and friends. A touching highlight of the evening was when his daughter, Jasmine, had the honor of pinning his Lieutenant badge on him—a gesture that encapsulated the pride and love of his family.
In his heartfelt remarks, Lieutenant Granados began by thanking God for this blessing in his life. He expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from everyone present and paid special tribute to his family, notably thanking his mother with a heartfelt “Gracias, Mama” for the love and guidance that helped shape him into the leader he is today.
