The Pasadena Police Department is proud to have partnered with the Friendswood Police Department in the apprehension of a suspect that was wanted for two counts of Indecency with a Child. This joint effort reflects our shared commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities—our children.
Our collaboration with neighboring law enforcement agencies, like Friendswood PD, is vital in ensuring justice is served and public safety is upheld. We commend the diligent work of Friendswood PD’s Field Support Unit and are grateful for the strong interagency cooperation that led to this arrest.
On April 2, 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM, the Friendswood Police Department’s Field Support Unit with the assistance of the Pasadena Police Department arrested Edir Ivan Lara Mejia, 40, of Houston, in the 1100 block of Orrell Drive in Pasadena. Two no-bond warrants for Mejia’s arrest were issued by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Edir was wanted for two counts of Indecency With A Child following an investigation by the Friendswood Police Department.
“We will continue to be relentless in the pursuit of protecting the children of our community,” said Chief Rogers. “We are grateful for the partnership of our surrounding agencies and the ability to work together to support the victim affected by this crime by quickly apprehending this individual.”
Following Mejia’s arrest, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E) has set a detainer for him due to his immigration status.
