It was a privilege to connect with our community at La Iglesia del Pueblo, where Pastor Villareal graciously invited us to attend and engage with Pasadena residents. This experience was truly unforgettable, as we were embraced with open arms and smiles from everyone we met. It was heartening to watch the Hispanic community interact with officers from the Pasadena Police Department to discuss concerns and address questions, which allowed us to dispel myths and negative perceptions about the police based on misunderstandings. One of the event’s highlights was when the community members learned that our Chief speaks Spanish. His genuine approach reflects respect and a deep appreciation for Hispanic culture. Chief Wright aims to instill a sense of value and confidence in our community and continue to foster a strong relationship between residents and law enforcement.
