Last week, PPD officers inspired third graders at Sparks Elementary with dictionaries, igniting their passion for reading and an endless vocabulary.

🍎 A Word a Day Keeps Boredom Away! πŸ“–

Last week, several of our officers, alongside our Chief, J.M. Wright, visited with third grade students at Sparks Elementary. Graciously donated by the Pasadena Rotary, every third grader was provided a dictionary, in hopes that it will become a tool they will utilize throughout the duration of their education. Volunteers that assisted in handing out the dictionaries each took a moment to talk about the importance of reading, literacy and heightened vocabulary, as these kids make their way through life.

Pasadena officers are fortunate to take part in this event every year. Seeing as report writing is such a huge part of our jobs, we are all proponents of articulate speech and can’t wait to watch this next generation thrive! To all the third graders, not only at Sparks but all over PISD, good luck on your first year of STAAR testing, we know you are going to crush it!
