Looks like Marcus the 🤡 thought he could steal a speaker and get away with it, but Precinct 8 Deputies had other plans.

On Monday, April 7, 2025 at approximately 11:30 AM, Precinct 8 Deputies were dispatched to the Best Buy store located in the 19400 block of the Gulf Fwy. in Webster for a theft in progress call. Deputies A. Ramirez and H. Tamez arrived and were advised by store employees that a male was seen concealing a JBL brand speaker, valued at $300, in his backpack. Deputies waited outside as the male passed all points of sale and exited the store. Upon seeing the Deputies, the male fled on foot into a nearby field. Deputy Ramirez deployed his taser, successfully subduing the male and he was taken into the custody. The speaker was recovered from his backpack and returned to the store.

The male was identified as 45 year old Marcus Andretti Shade. It was learned Shade has 10 prior theft convictions and arrests for bank robberies in multiple states. He is currently on federal probation.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for felony Theft and Evading Arrest/Detention in this case. Shade was transported to the Harris County Jail for booking and bonds were later set at $45,000 total. The Federal US Probation Office was also contacted and notified of the arrest.
