LPPD has announced Chief Ron Parker passed away. A legacy of dedication and integrity in La Porte.

It is with profound sadness the La Porte Police Department announces the passing of former Chief Ron Parker.

Chief Parker dedicated the majority of his policing career to serving the community of La Porte. He was known for his honor, integrity, and unwavering dedication. Chief Parker joined the La Porte Police Department in 1984 and faithfully served in several divisions before his appointment to Chief in October 2018. During his time as chief, the department made great progress in the areas of public safety and community engagement. Chief Parker also played a key role in helping the department achieve accreditation status with the State of Texas in 2009. In March 2020, Chief Parker took a position as the Chief of Police in Brenham, TX, where he served until his retirement in March of this year.

Chief Parker’s legacy of service and commitment will continue to inspire others. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, Debbie, and his family during this difficult time. On behalf of the La Porte Police Department, we thank Chief Parker for his service, and he will be deeply missed.
