Holiday Safety Reminder
The La Porte Police Department (LPPD) and the La Porte Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) remind everyone that the possession and use of fireworks in the city limits are illegal (per City ordinance Sec. 38-167). Violators are subject to a fine and/or confiscation of their fireworks.
Please cooperate to reduce the illegal use of fireworks. Consider the police and fire department resources it takes to respond to fireworks complaints. These types of calls could ultimately result in delayed responses to more serious crimes and medical emergencies.
