New in the City Marshals Office, Officer Magda Catalina Cardenas transformed her dreams into reality, proving that resilience pave the way to success.

On January 6, 2025, Officer Magda Catalina Cardenas was officially sworn in by Chief Wright as a member of the Pasadena City Marshals Office. This marks an exciting new chapter in a journey shaped by resilience and determination. A dedicated mother of three, Catalina overcame numerous challenges to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a police officer. Immigrating to the U.S. at the age of nine, she earned U.S. citizenship in 2021 and graduated second in her class from the Pearland Police Department’s Academy in 2023.

Before joining the Pasadena City Marshal, Catalina served nearly two years with the Seabrook Police Department, where she developed her skills in law enforcement. With over 13 years of community service experience—including her work with initiatives like Blue Backpack and Toys for Tots—Catalina brings a wealth of knowledge in conflict resolution and a strong commitment to public service. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and excited to see the great work she will continue to do in this new role.
