Deputies Make Two Drug-Related Arrests on Gulf Freeway
On October 1, 2026, deputies were conducting patrols in the 10500 block of the Gulf Freeway in response to criminal activity in the area.
While in a parking lot where an active Criminal Trespass Affidavit was in place, deputies observed a male and female engaged in what appeared to be a hand-to-hand transaction. Deputies initiated a detention of both individuals. The male suspect fled on foot, while deputies detained the female.
The female was identified as 55-year-old Emily Mccary. Additional deputies responded to assist in the search for the male suspect, who was subsequently located and detained. He was identified as 36-year-old Erick Haywood.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver against Haywood and Possession of a Controlled Substance against Mccary.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Jail, where they were booked on their respective charges.
All charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
