Pasadena High recently honored two outstanding educators, highlighting their significant contributions and impact on the community.

Eagle Pride in Action. 🦅
This week we celebrate two incredible educators who represent the heart of Pasadena High School.
Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Whiteside
Mrs. Whiteside is more than a teacher she’s a life changer. For over 30 years, she has been an advocate for our Omega students, creating opportunities that go far beyond the classroom.
From securing $10,000 Chevron grants to build and sustain both a campus garden and a community garden, to leading students in growing, harvesting, and cooking their own food every week she’s teaching real life skills that stick.
She created Locker 225, something special:
✔️ A student-run clothing store
✔️ A food pantry
✔️ A resource center for our community
Students don’t just receive support they learn to run it. They stock, organize, merchandise, and serve others… all while gaining skills that prepare them for life.
Everything in that space from clothes to shoes to food is free, because of her heart, her hustle, and her commitment to kids.
This is why she is Teacher of the Year.
And as she retires this year, her legacy is already written all over this campus.
New Teacher of the Year – Ms. Moon
Mrs. Moon is the future and she’s already making an impact.
She brings energy, creativity, and a genuine care for students that shows up every single day.
From hands-on learning experiences like taking students outside the classroom, to creating an environment where students are fully engaged without ever needing to raise her voice—her classroom just works.
Every time you walk in, students are:
✔️ Engaged
✔️ Thinking
✔️ Learning in ways that go beyond the standard
She has all the signs of becoming a master teacher, and we’re watching it happen in real time.
Two different journeys.
One shared purpose.
Changing lives. Building futures. Leading with heart.
Pasadena High School is better because of both of you.
Eagle Pride Never Dies. 🦅
