NOTICE: SAREX 2025 TRAINING EXERCISE – MAY 20–22

Individuals in and around the training sites will notice a heavy presence of helicopters flying at low altitudes.

The locations include:
– Ellington Airport
– Lake Houston
– Deussen Park
– Bay Area Park (Armand Bayou)
– Eisenhower Park
– San Jacinto River (from Lake Houston Dam to US Hwy 90)

This emergency response exercise will take place Wednesday, May 21st from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and involves Texas A&M Task Force 1, along with various state, federal and military agencies.

💣Important information regarding a Pasadena Police Department training exercise with their bomb squad:

The Pasadena Police Department Bomb Squad will be conducting two separate explosive demonstrations at the Pasadena Police Department training facility, which is located at 6600 Genoa Red Bluff. The exercises will occur on May 12 and May 13 at approximately 6:30 PM. Each exercise will consist of three (3) small detonations, which may be heard by the surrounding residents and businesses.

For our industry personnel that surround the Pasadena Police Department training facility, the controlled elevated detonation will not have any effect on the pipelines that surround our training facility.

The City of Pasadena has partnered with Public Management, Inc. (PMI) consultants to conduct door-to-door surveys on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Your participation will help determine eligibility for disaster recovery funding as part of the Disaster Recovery Resiliency Program (DRRP) through the State of Texas.

What residents should know:

Attention drivers: starting now, expect nightly closures on SH 225 as crews work to improve our roadways and enhance mobility.

There will be a nightly closure of two, right westbound main lanes on SH 225 from Deerwood Glen Drive to Channel City Road beginning Monday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. through Monday, Feb. 25 at 5 a.m. This closure is a part of the Sam Houston Tollway/SH 225 Interchange Project to help facilitate road improvements and mobility in the area.
• The left, westbound frontage road lane will also be closed.
• Both U-turn lanes on the SH 225 frontage road at the East Sam Houston Tollway intersection will also be closed.
• The westbound Robin Street and Tenneco Road entrance ramps and the Beltway 8 exit ramp will also be closed.
• HCTRA contractors will be performing work.

Newly-installed sirens will sound for 3 minutes, followed by another 3-minute siren tone.
This will result in TWO consecutive siren tones, totaling 6 minutes.
THIS IS ONLY A TEST.
No shelter-in-place actions are necessary during the testing phase.

Pasadena’s new emergency siren system will transform the city into a well-prepared fortress, ready to scream at any disaster.

👀 What IS that thing?!?! 👀 The City of Pasadena Office of Emergency Management is updating and expanding our emergency siren system to better serve our residents. These sirens are designed to cover the ENTIRE 60+ square mile footprint Pasadena. The sound will alert citizens to shelter in place during HAZMAT incidents or weather events, such as tornados. The cities of Pasadena, Deer Park and LaPorte all test our sirens at the same time, each Saturday at Noon. The Pasadena Police Department has become aware of a viral social media post claiming there is a “serial killer” in our area. THIS INFORMATION IS FALSE! The Pasadena Police Department has no record of the described incidents or the named individual in our jurisdiction. Additionally, we have not received any reports matching the crimes described in the social media post.

The post has also been noted circulating in at least one other community. We urge anyone who is a member of this Facebook group to report this post as false information.

The Pasadena Police Department takes all threats to public safety seriously. We encourage our community to:

✅Report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement
