On Saturday June 21, 2025, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. Upon investigation it was found there were numerous open containers in the vehicle and in plain view was an unholstered firearm within reach of the driver and passenger.
Both individuals were detained without incident. A standardized field sobriety test was conducted on the driver, which determined he was not under the influence. The driver stated the firearm was not his, nor was the vehicle his.
The female was identified as 31 year old Tonya Moreno who was found to be a convicted felon. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of felon in possession of weapon. Tonya was arrested and booked into Harris County jail without further incident.
