On January 23, 2025, deputies observed a vehicle fail to maintain a single lane, strike a curb, and speed along the service road. A traffic stop was conducted, and upon approaching the driver, deputies noticed multiple signs of intoxication.
The driver, identified as Ricardo Ortega, was unable to complete a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, where a blood warrant was drafted, signed, and executed.
During the investigation, deputies discovered that Mr. Ortega had seven active misdemeanor warrants, including two from Harris County Precinct 2, one from Harris County Precinct 7, two from the Deer Park Police Department, and two from La Porte Police Department.
Mr. Ortega has been booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and his open warrants.
