On March 26, 2025, deputies with Constable Jerry Garcia’s Patrol Division were dispatched to the 12800 block of Nyack in reference to a kidnapping. An initial report was completed, and an investigation was immediately started by Constable Garcia’s Special Operations Unit.
During the course of this investigation, the Special Operations Unit was able to identify two suspects involved in this incident. Deputies began following leads and were eventually able to track the suspects down to the 10200 block of Almeda Genoa on April 17, 2025. With the assistance of the US Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force, deputies and marshals were able to take both suspects into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
In the end, the suspects were identified as Crandall Kelly, who was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by Felon, and
Johnny Kaiser, who was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.
Constable Garcia wants to thank the US Marshals Office and his Special Operations Unit for taking these dangerous individuals off the streets.
Please stay safe, and God bless.
