Precinct 8 Deputy Camarillo’s traffic stop turns two 🤡s into jail birds, because of a stash of drugs and a parole violation warrant.

On October 24, 2024 at approximately 1:00 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy Camarillo with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 5400 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S. The driver was identified as 33 year old Miranda Lynn Garcia and the passenger as 69 year old Howard Nash. Deputies conducted a consent-based search of the vehicle and located 2 small bags of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and pills later identified as fentanyl. Upon further investigation, it was determined the passenger provided a false name and date of birth, and was positively identified as 69 year old Willie Joseph Scott Jr. A check of Scott’s information revealed an open Parole Violation Warrant. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Garcia. While at the Harris County Joint Processing Center, Garcia was found to have narcotics concealed inside her person. The total weight of narcotics recovered was 1.3 grams of fentanyl, 1.2 grams of cocaine and .05 grams of methamphetamine. The District Attorney’s Office accepted an additional charge for felony Possession of Controlled Substance. Garcia’s bonds were set at $2,000 total.
