On April 23, 2025, at approximately 7:15 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy O. Cartlidge was dispatched to investigate a traffic accident in the 15600 block of Sea Lark Rd. where one of the parties involved failed to stop and exchange information as required by law. Upon meeting with the victim, Deputy Cartlidge was able to gather key details that led to the identification of the suspect vehicle.
Using the information provided, deputies were able to track down the registered owner of the vehicle and located an address connected to the suspect. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies found the vehicle, and just as they approached, the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Oscar A. Vasquez, was observed walking out of the location. Witnesses ultimately identified Vasquez as the driver who was involved in the crash and who had fled the scene.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and after review, charges were accepted for Failure to Stop and Give Information against Vasquez.
Vasquez was placed into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where he was booked without incident. His bond was later set at $100.
