On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 7:36 PM, Deputy C. Crider of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious male in the 16400 block of El Camino Real. The caller reported that the individual was possibly armed and behaving erratically, causing alarm and concern for public safety.
Deputy Crider arrived and located a male matching the suspect’s description and attempted to make contact. Upon seeing the uniformed Deputy exit a fully marked patrol unit with emergency lights activated, the suspect fled on foot. The male ran across El Camino Real, through a nearby church parking lot, and into an adjacent apartment complex, ignoring repeated commands to stop. During the pursuit, Deputy Crider deployed his department-issued Taser, effectively subduing the male and bringing the chase to a successful conclusion. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Eduardo Valdovinos of Houston, was taken into custody without further incident.
A records check revealed that Valdovinos showed an active warrant for his arrest out of Harris County for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge for Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot.
