Precinct 8 Deputy Crider’s top turned into high speed drama featuring an intoxicated 🤡 with a hidden firearm.

On August 12, 2025, at approximately 2:12 AM, Deputy C. Crider was completing a traffic stop in the 10300 block of the Gulf Freeway when he observed a Green Nissan Altima approaching his patrol vehicle at a high rate of speed. The Nissan came to an abrupt stop, just feet away from Deputy Crider and his patrol vehicle. Deputy Crider made contact with the driver of the Nissan, who was later identified as 39-year-old Julio Gonzalez. While speaking with Gonzalez, Deputy Crider observed multiple signs of intoxication and determined he was unable to operate the motor vehicle safely.

A records check for Gonzalez revealed he was wanted out of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Eluding. Gonzalez also had an Immigration Deportation warrant through (ICE). After placing Gonzalez in custody, Deputies located a firearm in the vehicle.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Gonzalez was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without incident.
