Precinct 8 Deputy E. Melo conducted a traffic stop in the 7600 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S. on a vehicle for being a Prohibited Vehicle on the Toll Road and displaying Expired Registration. The driver was identified as 33 year old Daniel Luis Magana of Pasadena. Deputy Melo detected the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Magana admitted he had smoked marijuana and that he currently possessed about of pound of Marijuana in his vehicle. Magana was detained and a Probable Cause search was completed. A vacuumed sealed plastic bag was located containing Marijuana that weighed 18 oz.
The Harris County DA’s Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Felony Possession of Marijuana. Magana was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center without incident.
