On Tuesday April 22, 2025, Deputy M. Self was working an approved extra job at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital when he was asked to escort a man out of the building for causing a disturbance. Upon exiting the building, the male forcefully shoved Deputy Self in the chest, causing him pain and discomfort. The blow also resulted in Deputy Self’s body camera holster being broken. Deputy Self deployed his taser, successfully incapacitating the suspect and he was taken into custody without further incident. He was identified as 26-year-old Julian Alexander Dean. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges for Assault on a Peace Officer. Dean was booked into the Harris County Jail and his bond was later set at $5,000.
