On October 8, 2024, Precinct 8 Sergeant Covey with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Allen Genoa Rd on a vehicle for multiple traffic infractions. The driver was identified as 43 year old Myles Fortney, Krista Lajoy. During the investigation, Deputy Peters and his K9 partner Duke arrived to assist on the scene and conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle in which K9 Duke alerted for the presence of narcotics. Upon a probable cause based search of the vehicle, Deputies located 1.4 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Myles was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $20,000.
