Six individuals receive assistance as Precinct 2 constable’s team addresses homelessness.

Dear Hobby District Partners,
Over the past week, deputies with Harris County Precinct 2 Constable Jerry Garcia’s Patrol Division, working alongside our Homeless Outreach Team, focused targeted efforts to address homelessness and community safety within the Hobby District.
Our work prioritized direct community engagement and proactive outreach across two primary areas. Deputies met directly with local merchants and small business owners who have been impacted by ongoing homelessness challenges. Our work is not complete as we continue meeting with as many other businesses as possible. Our top priority is to maintain a good line of communication with businesses and our office.
Our deputies extended outreach efforts beyond main thoroughfares into less visible locations, including wooded areas and underpasses, to identify individuals in need of assistance. As a direct result of these focused efforts, 6 displaced individuals accepted assistance and took their first critical steps toward transitional housing and support services.
Precinct 2 remains committed to balancing public safety, supporting our business community, and providing compassionate solutions to vulnerable individuals. We appreciate your continued partnership as we work together to keep the Hobby District safe and prosperous.
If you have specific public safety concerns or need to coordinate with our patrol deputies, please do not hesitate to contact our office directly at 713-477-4070. Thank you everyone. Be safe!
