A SPARK of Joe is now officially open at Sparks Elem! πŸŽ‰β˜• Managed by the fantastic students of Jennifer Sordia’s Success Program, this innovative career-focused initiative enables students to handle orders, deliver delicious drinks, manage invoices, and sprinkle a little joy across the Sparks campus. A massive shoutout to Ms. Sordia, who secured a Donors Choose grant to equip the coffee shop with everything it needs. “We’re thrilled that these students can discover career paths while honing their math and reading skills,” exclaimed Erica Kirk, Principal of Sparks Elementary.

Jessup Elementary School Pasadena ISD recently partnered with Rotary Club of Houston Hobby Area and Houston Achievement Place (HAP) to implement a research-based program that focuses on developing essential social and relationship skills among their students. This collaboration results from exploring viable methods designed to improve student behavior and academic performance by utilizing the resources of HAP’s Project CLASS (Children Learning Appropriate Social Skills) program. A public informational meeting will be held by Pasadena Independent School District on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, to seek public comments on the needs and use of federal funds within Title I, II, III and IV.

The purpose of the meeting is to seek input on how the district can use funds to provide supplemental services and support to students, families, teachers, administrators, and other district staff.

Pasadena ISD congratulates Ashley Miller for being awarded the Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union 2023 Appreciated Teacher of the Year Award along with the $2,500 grand prize!

The Appreciated Teacher of

the Year Award was created by Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union to recognize outstanding educators within their field of membership, which now includes all districts and accredited schools in Texas. The Appreciated Teacher of the Year Award is given annually to one teacher who demonstrates exemplary dedication to their students and their profession. The remaining finalists receive a $500 honorarium.

“The students at Red Bluff Elementary are truly one of a kind. Knowing that I can make a difference in my students’ lives and other lives is the best reward I can receive as an educator,” said Miller.
