Verne Cox is on the map! ❤️Here is a screenshot of the article: EAST REGION LEADERSHIP MEETING & TOUR Last week, TRAPS Executive Director Erin Franz met with the East Region leadership team and provided an update on all that is happening within our TRAPS organization, including a wrap-up of the 88th Legislative Session’s impact on parks and recreation, and gave a look ahead at the exciting events and activities planned for 2024. In addition, the leadership team received a tour of the nationally recognized Verne Cox Multipurpose Recreation Center in Pasadena. This innovative facility is specifically dedicated to recreational activities, programs, and events for youth and adults with disabilities. With a wide variety of programs year-round, the Verne Cox Multipurpose Recreation Center serves persons ages 5 to 95 years of age with any type of physical and/or intellectual disability. The center features a gym, an outdoor pool, a weight room, two activity rooms, a fully functional kitchen, an accessible softball field, and locker room facilities. From summer camps, to afterschool programming, to wheelchair sports leagues/tournaments, to sensory programs, to day programs, and themed monthly dances – the Verne Cox Center really is a wonderful place to be!
