The Pasadena Police Department was recognized by the Pasadena Independent School District for assisting Pasadena ISD Police in the initial on-scene response and investigation of the shooting that took place on February 1, 2025, at Pasadena Memorial High School.
We are deeply humbled and grateful to receive this award. This was a team effort in every sense, with two agencies coming together as one. Pasadena Police officers and PISD Police officers responded that day, ready to give their all to protect students, staff, and the community. It is a reminder such as this that underlines the connection and pride our two agencies share. Officers’ training and preparation were evident in their response to this high-risk situation, as PPD and PISD Police answered the call to protect their community together. We commend the professionalism and courage of all officers, as they partnered up to secure the school, reunify children with parents, and conduct a thorough investigation.
To the brave teacher, parents, and family members who stepped in and stopped the suspect before officers arrived, THANK YOU! Your courage that day made all the difference. To the students who rendered first aid, your quick thinking and willingness to help others in such a critical moment are truly admirable.
Our sincerest thank you to PISD for last night’s event. The company and camaraderie were warm and welcoming, and the food was almost too beautiful to eat! Here is to many more years of mutual aid and support.
