The Pasadena Police Junior Citizens Police Academy sparks curiosity and excitement. Eager participants engage with officers and explore the world of community service.

While our Citizens Police Academy holds a special place of importance for our Community Engagement officers, the Junior CPA affords a unique opportunity to capture and engage the future of our community. This important endeavor is met with vigor and excitement from both officers and participants alike.

Our newest class of bright, young minds showed their interest and curiosity from the start, remaining attentive and inquisitive throughout each presenter. Hands were vigorously raised and thoughts were swirling, as students had an opportunity to speak with our “Unit 1”, Chief J.M. Wright. Following the Chief’s welcome words of wisdom and guidance, the officer breaking all the records for “years in service”, Sgt. J. Anderson, enraptured everyone with a deep dive into the history of PPD’s brush with well-known serial killers.

Over the next few months, this group of participants will be held to the highest standards, as they take a deep dive into a career that gives back as much as we put into it. Hopefully, along the way, we can inspire some of these young adults to embark on this journey as their career. Though, even if they decide it’s not for them, they will have a well-rounded understanding of our department, our community and our passion for serving!
