On December 21, 2024, Toll Road Deputies from Constable Jerry Garcia’s Office, while conducting routine patrols on the 8900 block of the South Sam Houston Tollway East, observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Their speed was confirmed at 114 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and noticed the driver exhibiting multiple signs of intoxication.
A DWI investigation was immediately launched. The driver consented to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests but later refused to complete them. Based on the evidence gathered, the Deputies concluded that the driver was under the influence.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Rebecca R. Vega, was arrested and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center on charges of driving while intoxicated.
