Two decades of dedicated service later, Pasadena’s 57th Academy Class continues to inspire as they honor their fallen comrades.

On January 10, 2025, the Pasadena Police Department proudly recognized the 20-year anniversary of the 57th Pasadena Police Academy Class. This anniversary marks a significant chapter in the lives of those who began their journey two decades ago, pledging to serve and protect their community. Today, we honor the incredible accomplishments of four members of this academy class who continue to serve, staying true to the oath they swore on that winter day, January 10, 2005.

Sergeant Chris Wilkerson, Detective Donna Wright, Officer Scott Cude, and Officer Mark Adams have exemplified the highest standards of law enforcement. Over the past 20 years, they have made lasting contributions to the department and their community. We are truly grateful for their service, sacrifice, and dedication.

As we celebrate this joyous occasion, we also pause to remember the tremendous losses from the 57th Academy Class. Detective Pete Mejia, Officer Jesse Hamilton, and Officer Roy Norman are no longer with us— two who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty, and one who passed away due to health challenges—are deeply missed. Their absence leaves a void, but their legacy remains in the hearts of those who served beside them. More than just colleagues, they were family.

Despite the hardships and heartbreaks, the 57th Academy Class has remained strong, honoring the memories of those they’ve lost and upholding the values that bind this department together. Their dedication and hard work remind us of the power found in purpose and community.

Together, we celebrate their service and honor the sacrifice of those who gave all.

Please take a moment to reflect on Sergeant Chris Wilkerson, Detective Donna Wright, Officer Scott Cude, and Officer Mark Adams and their extraordinary journey and their individual achievements over the past two decades.

To Class 57, here’s to 20 more years—hear, hear! Let’s keep serving with honor and excellence, and maybe a little less paperwork!
