Two La Porte officers are transforming school safety with elite SBLE Masters Certificates. A big win for the kids.

LPPD Officers Awarded SBLE Masters Certificates

The La Porte Police Department is proud to announce that Officers Shane Neal and Barry Groaning have each been awarded the School-Based Law Enforcement (SBLE) Masters Certificate.

The SBLE Masters Certificate is the highest credential offered in the School-Based Law Enforcement program. It requires rigorous training, demonstrated leadership, and a deep dedication to fostering positive relationships within school communities. Officers Neal and Groaning have both completed advanced coursework and hands-on fieldwork focused on crisis response, youth engagement, and proactive safety initiatives.

Both LPPD officer’s leadership will continue to shape the department’s approach to school safety for years to come.
