You can run but you can’t hide. Precinct 8 locked up the elusive 🤡 Tommie for a myriad of broken laws.

Yesterday, Precinct 8 Deputies received a tip about a suspicious male inside of a business located in the 400 block of El Dorado Blvd. The caller believed the suspect was selling narcotics at this location. Deputies Rabago and Cartlidge arrived and made contact with a male who matched the description given. The male provided a false name and date of birth before successfully fleeing on foot into a neighboring apartment complex. It was learned the male left a bag behind that was found to contain approximately 3 ounces of marijuana.

The suspect was positively identified by another Deputy who was familiar with the subject from previous incidents. He was identified as 17 year old Tommie Collins. It was learned Collins had two outstanding warrants for Evading Arrest and Assaulting a Family Member. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted an additional charge of Evading Arrest for this latest incident. Charges for Possession of Marijuana and Fail to ID/Fugitive were declined by the DA’s Office for unknown reasons.

Earlier today, Deputies from the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division and our Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance and located Collins in the 18800 block of Town Ridge Dr. in Webster. Upon making contact with the defendant, he attempted to evade from the scene again. A perimeter was established and the defendant was located hiding inside an apartment. He surrendered without further incident and was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center this afternoon. An additional charge of Evading Arrest is being filed for today’s incident.
