I know, I’m 9 years old, but I still feel like there’s so much more life left in me. But…I’ve been waiting. Waiting for so long that the hope I used to hold onto is slipping away
Every day here is harder than the last, the noise, the loneliness—it’s crushing me. I didn’t think it would hurt like this, but the shelter is wearing me down. I can feel it in my bones.
I don’t want to spend the last days of my life behind these bars. I just want one chance to feel what it’s like to belong, to be loved when I need it the most. But I’m on the Urgent List, and time’s running out for me…
