CTE students designed pipes, explored petrochemical careers, and gained hands-on experience at the innovative Lyondell Basell Center.

It was an exciting day for several of Mr. Johnson’s students from San Jacinto Intermediate as they had the chance to tour the Lyondell Basell Center for Petrochemical, Energy and Technology (CPET) at San Jacinto College Central Campus. The students participated in hands-on activities, such as constructing 90-degree pipes to grasp the industry’s chemical requirements. Following this, they expanded their knowledge with a tour of the Air Products plant. This experience offered invaluable insights into petrochemical careers and the essential skills for success in this field. What skills do you think are crucial for future professionals in this industry? A heartfelt thank you to San Jacinto College and Dream It, Do It Southeast Texas for providing this opportunity.
