My name is Rufus. I’m a gentle soul with thinning fur, and eyes that have seen more than most. I’ve lost some of my coat, probably allergies, and I’m heartworm positive… but treatment is available if someone is willing to fight for me.
I was once someone’s dog. I had a place. A name. Now I struggle in the shelter and listen to the younger ones leave before me. I try to stay hopeful, but each day gets a little quieter. A little colder.
They tell me I’m calm. That I’m sweet. That I still have so much love left to give. But I’m on the Urgent List 🚨 and my time is almost up…If you’re reading this, please… don’t let this be how my story ends.
