After a wild chase through the parking lot, Precinct 8’s Deputy K. Peters locked up the 🤡. It was electrifying.

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, Precinct 8 Deputy K. Peters with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the 1060 block of Edgebrook Dr on a vehicle displaying an unreadable temporary permit. The vehicle failed to stop and accelerated to a high rate of speed. The vehicle entered an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Redford St and proceeded to drive in circles in the parking lot with no regard for the safety of others. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop and the driver continued to evade on foot. Deputy Peters gave chase and utilized his Taser to safely subdue the suspect. The suspect was identified as 47 year old Desmond Oneal Brown. A check of Brown’s information revealed an extensive criminal history. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle incident to arrest and located 3.5 grams of marijuana and bags containing white powdery residue.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony Evading Arrest/Detention in Vehicle. Brown was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where his bond was set at $5,000.
