She was also Assistant Director for over four years and started her career with PPL in 2003 as an Adult Services Manager. Come and welcome her as the library’s NEW Director.

T-Mobile extended their free internet service for the Library’s HCPL Connected initiative users.
Good news about an extension of service for anyone who checked out a wifi hotspot or Chromebook.
In an unexpected, but welcome, development, Harris County Public Library (HCPL) and T-Mobile will continue to provide free internet connections for the thousands of Harris County residents who received WiFi hotspots and Laptop Computers through the library’s HCPL Connected initiative.

Free Internet service to all HCPL connected Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops will end December 31, 2023.
Harris County Digital Navigators can help eligible households sign up for discounted internet service through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
Based on your income, if you or your child or dependent participate in certain government assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or other programs, ACP may provide a discount of up to a $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households.
There are two ways to sign up:

You’ve got a jigsaw puzzle in good condition that you’ve already put together, and it is just sitting on a shelf.
How about swapping it out for someone else’s puzzle in good shape? Here’s how it works: Bring in your puzzle(s) in good shape without missing pieces before Saturday, Dec. 9, and receive a ticket. Then come in between noon and 1 p.m. on Dec. 9 to pick up a puzzle for each ticket you have. Puzzles are open for anyone after 1 p.m.

Explore the wonders of Galveston Bay at Central Library unveiling the findings of the newly released report card Wednesday Oct 18th 6pm.
Galveston Bay is Texas’ largest and one of the world’s most productive ecosystems. It borders Pasadena and provides seafood, storm protection, regulation of climate, and recreational opportunities. Check up on the Bay with the Galveston Bay Foundation’s Lisa Scobel, who will share findings from this year’s newly released report card. This presentation is part of an area-wide series of discussions and presentations related to Gulf Coast Reads (find out more at www.gulfcoastreads.org).
