In an unexpected, but welcome, development, Harris County Public Library (HCPL) and T-Mobile will continue to provide free internet connections for the thousands of Harris County residents who received WiFi hotspots and Laptop Computers through the library’s HCPL Connected initiative.

Based on your income, if you or your child or dependent participate in certain government assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or other programs, ACP may provide a discount of up to a $30 per month toward broadband service for eligible households.
There are two ways to sign up:

How about swapping it out for someone else’s puzzle in good shape? Here’s how it works: Bring in your puzzle(s) in good shape without missing pieces before Saturday, Dec. 9, and receive a ticket. Then come in between noon and 1 p.m. on Dec. 9 to pick up a puzzle for each ticket you have. Puzzles are open for anyone after 1 p.m.

Join the Library this Thursday evening at 5:00 P.M. for the continuation of the Film Society movies and discussions at the Fairmont Library. Throughout the month of September, they will be showcasing various films and encouraging insightful conversations. This week’s selection includes the performances of iconic figures such as Lena Horne, Ethel Waters, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong from the year 1943.
