The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library are going on a trip to the historic Rosenberg Library in Galveston, Texas, the oldest continuously run library in the state of Texas! All Friends members are welcome to join the trip.
For the bus trip there, there is an age limit of 55 and up and the cost is $3. Meet at the Pasadena Central Library (1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr.) at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30. After the library tour, they’ll have lunch at the historic Star Drug Store.

We had a great time making and applying henna! Macy of Henna Love taught us how to mix paste from natural ingredients (henna powder, brown sugar and an essential oil), some principles of design, and guided us as we applied our own designs or got one from her!

The Diabetes Prevention series of classes at Pasadena Central Library has split into two, and space is available to join in the next two weeks. Pasadena Public Library’s new Director, Kenya Johnson, has called the library home for quite some time. In fact, she has almost 21 years of experience as a Librarian and Manager at PPL. You might have met her as the Branch Manager of our Fairmont Library since 2013. She was also Assistant Director for over four years and started her career with PPL in 2003 as an Adult Services Manager. Come and welcome her as the library’s NEW Director.

The AARP Foundation is offering their annual FREE Tax-Aide services in the Central Library’s meeting room at 1201 Jeff Ginn Memorial Dr. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Thursdays 9AM – 5PM & Fridays 9AM – 4PM
Walk in or drop off your 2023 Tax documents on a first-come, first-served basis. It will be your option to stay with the counselor while they prepare your return, or get called to pick up your completed return when it is ready. Chairs will be available if you want to wait.
