Chief Wright announces exciting details for a new Pasadena Police Department Annex and several divisions within.

In Chief Wright’s ongoing efforts to uphold the Pasadena Police Department’s missions to fight crime, provide service to our community, and take care of every employee, he proudly announced exciting details regarding the Police Department Annex Building.
The new development will accommodate various divisions including: community services, property and evidence, code enforcement, as well as city and fire marshals.
This new facility will also allow for the accommodation of growth for two new divisions that have been created to meet the community’s needs: the Digital Intelligence Unit (D.I.U.) and our Community Improvement Coalition.
Currently, D.I.U. is equipped with cutting-edge technology that consists of a real-time crime center that can unify video and data streams from various sources. One prominent feature this Unit maintains is the ability to view multiple video streams simultaneously. As Crime Analysts work together with numerous divisions within the Police Department, we are able to view the video while an Officer is en route to a call, resulting in enhanced situational awareness and officer safety.
Chief Wright’s vision for the Community Improvement Coalition addresses complex issues that require a more long-term response. The city of Pasadena is diligently working to address our most significant problems in the city, and this program will support our efforts.
We eagerly anticipate sharing progress updates on the development of the Annex and the progression and successes of the D.I.U. and Community Improvement Coalition!
