“I’m not sure if this is common practice, but I wanted to share an adoption SUCCESS story with your team. In April, we adopted “Anthony” from the shelter who was on the URGENT need list due to being stressed in the environment. We have always adopted pets in the past but from local fostering agencies, so this was our first time adopting directly from a shelter and we were unsure exactly what to expect.
Over the last few months – “Anthony”, now JACKS (my husband and I both graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University – “Axe’em Jacks”), is thriving! He is incredibly smart (knows how to sit, shake, stay), loves to play and RUN, and show off his big personality. He has grown to love trips in the car, walks around the neighborhood, playing with his puppy-cousins, and chewing ANYTHING he can find.
While we know that adopting a pet from a shelter can sometimes feel like a gamble – in all our years adopting, we have always been incredibly lucky to end up with pets that bring so much joy and love to our family.”
