Happy Tails Update! ❤️🐶
Priscilla has come out of her shell and bloomed with her new family! Check out what they had to say:
“We were told to take things slow, so I decided to take it really slow. I didn’t introduce her to the other dogs face-to-face or even let them interact under the door. Instead, I placed a recently used toy from each dog in front of her, along with a sock from my dad and my sweat rag from my morning treadmill run. Since I had things to do, I kept her in my room in a large crate for a while. Later, I let her explore the house on her own while the other dogs were put away. When she returned to my room, I left her out of the crate…
Over time, she started trusting me more. Now, she lets me pick her up, climbs all over me, and won’t leave my side. If I walk out of the room, she immediately follows….I’ve also trained her to enjoy water using positive reinforcement, which is a big step forward. We’re still working on socializing her with people, but she made amazing progress recently. For the very first time, she let someone outside of our household pet her. It was such a special moment to witness. Oh, and did I mention? She actually likes water now!”
