Pasadena’s National Night Out proves once again that it takes a village, or in this case, 42.

We had a great time celebrating National Night Out with our Pasadena community on Tuesday evening!
With 42 National Night Out events scheduled throughout our city, we did our best to make the rounds and were fortunate to visit 9 different neighborhood gatherings. Each stop was a wonderful reminder of what makes Pasadena so special, seeing neighbors coming together, families enjoying time with one another, and our community building stronger relationships with our first responders.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who organized and hosted an event, as well as the Pasadena Police Department, Pasadena Fire Department, city staff, volunteers, and residents who participated. While we couldn’t make it to all 42 events, we appreciate every neighborhood that helped make National Night Out such a success.

It was a great concert, and the house was packed at the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo! A big thank you to everyone at the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo who works so hard to bring outstanding entertainment and memorable experiences to our community year after year. It was a night to remember!

Today, our Pasadena Parks and Recreation Department hosted a 3-on-3 Wheelchair Basketball Tournament, bringing together athletes for a day filled with competition, teamwork, and excitement!
Events like this are a wonderful reminder that sports have the power to bring people together and create opportunities for everyone to participate, compete, and have fun.
A big thank you to our Parks and Recreation Department, along with Pasadena Memorial High School, for opening the gym for the tournament, Johnny Tamales for providing amazing food, all the volunteers, and everyone who helped organize and support today’s tournament. Most importantly, congratulations to all the athletes who took to the court and gave it their all. Your determination, athleticism, and competitive spirit were inspiring to watch!

On Friday, September 4th, I had the pleasure of participating in the 8th Annual Rodeo Round-Up with the trail riders here in Pasadena! It was wonderful to visit our local elementary schools and see the excitement on the children’s faces as they eagerly waited for the horses to arrive. This year, they finally convinced me to get on a horse, and thankfully, I didn’t fall off! A big thank you to the United Trail Riders Association and all the volunteers who work so hard to make this special event possible. It’s always a great way to bring our community together and help kick off rodeo season. We’ll see you at the Rodeo beginning Friday, September 18!

Today’s Community Safety Fair and Hurricane Workshop was a tremendous success, drawing a wonderful crowd to the Pasadena Convention Center. We’re grateful to everyone who came out and made the event so special.
The fair truly had something for all ages. A highlight was the hands-on booth sponsored by San Jac College, where children got to explore construction and safety in an interactive way.
Attendees also enjoyed exciting door prizes and a delicious lunch generously provided by Chick-fil-A. A heartfelt thank you to Chick-fil-A and to every organization that set up a booth and shared valuable resources with our community. From the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Trailer and HCA Helicopter to fire trucks and more, there was no shortage of fascinating things to see and explore.

I want to thank everyone who attended my first Town Hall meeting last night. We had a fantastic turnout, and I genuinely appreciate all the residents and business owners who took part in the discussion. I would also like to thank our City Directors for their participation and for engaging with the community to address questions and concerns. The evening provided a great opportunity to connect one-on-one with our residents. As I noted, please look forward to the Council Chambers being upgraded with technology to allow for live streaming of the Council meetings in the very near future. I look forward to seeing you at my next Town Hall in 2026 as we continue to put “Pasadena First.”
