THE UNSUNG HEROES OF THE ARENA
All week long, we’ve watched Bryce Redo, Cody Emerson, Bradley Overby and Cameron Lerma put it all on the line to protect our cowboys. They’ve stepped in time and time again, saving cowboy after cowboy and doing one of the most dangerous jobs in the arena.
They may not be the ones taking the 8-second ride, but they’re right there when it matters most — putting themselves between a cowboy and a bull without hesitation.
To all 4 of our cowboy protectors— THANK YOU! Thank you for the courage, the grit, and for having our contestants’ backs every single night. We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re grateful you’re part of the Pasadena Rodeo family.

Video PLS&R barn unveils new pens, continuing a 40-year legacy.

There’s something pretty special about seeing brand new pens going up in the PLS&R barn. 🧡

For approximately 40 year’s those old pens held more than livestock. They held some of the very best memories of thousands of students.

Some of the showmen who stood in those pens as nervous kids are now parents watching their own children show. Some have become business owners, community leaders, teachers, ag professionals, and mentors. And many came right back to this same barn as volunteers, giving their time to the association that once gave so much to them.

Those old pens saw first shows and last shows, big wins and hard losses, friendships made, lessons learned, and generations of families standing along the same rails cheering each other on.

And now we get to watch a new chapter begin.

These new pens will hold kids who may not know it yet, but the lessons they learn inside them will follow them long after they leave the show ring. And maybe 20, 30, or 40 years from now, they’ll be the ones standing on the other side of the rail, giving back.

New pens. New memories. The same PLS&R legacy.

Here’s to everything the old ones gave us and everything these new ones are about to see.

Come on out to our annual badge pickup party on Thursday, Aug. 27th, in front of the Rodeo office from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In order to have your badge ready for pickup on Thursday, Aug. 27th, you must be paid by Sunday, August 23rd.

You are still able to pay for your badge after the Badge Party, but please note that if paying AFTER Aug. 23rd, you will need to go to the office and pick up your badge, and your application and dues must be paid and turned in by September 1st.

Brittany is a lifelong resident of the Pasadena/Deer Park area and has been an active volunteer with the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo (PLS&R) since 2015. Growing up raising cattle with her family, she is a strong advocate for supporting the “2% who feed the 98%.” A graduate of Deer Park High School, Brittany went on to study agriculture at Texas A&M University, where she deepened her passion for livestock and agricultural education. Her heart lies in supporting the young people who come out of the barn—future leaders she believes we can impact positively right here at PLS&R. Brittany’s connection to the livestock and rodeo community runs deep, and she finds joy in watching her own children grow up in the same environment that helped shape her. She believes deeply in the mission of PLS&R, and her dedication to youth development and agricultural traditions continues to inspire her involvement with the organization.

PLS&R friend Rooster was in an accident on his way to the rodeo. Pray for his swift recovery.

Our friend, Rooster, with Frontier Rodeo Company was involved in a bad wreck while hauling stock to Pasadena. We would like to take a moment and lift our friend Rooster in prayer.

We are praying for quick healing and a complete recovery.

Update on Chase “Rooster” Finnell, Chase is the son of Rodeo Manager, Heath Stewart and wife Shay. For those that don’t know and the ones that need an update. The Frontier crew left yesterday morning headed to Pasadena, TX. Chase had a blowout on the Semi (loaded with bulls and calves) which caused him to go off of an overpass and into a concrete wall in Waxahachie, TX. GOD definitely had his hands on Chase, as this could’ve been so much worse. We have so many things to be THANKFUL for and as his mom said a MILLION MIRACLES! He has some minor cuts that required stitches and an L2 burst (break). We ask that you lift him, his surgeons and medical staff up in prayer as he goes in for surgery today at 2:00 p.m.. Pray that this will relieve some of his pain, for strength, healing and complete recovery. Prayers for Steve Weber and Dusty Moore (Frontier crew) that witnessed the accident and were on scene to help with the animals. Thank you to everyone that showed up to help! As the old saying goes, there’s no better family than the rodeo family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and prayers. Praise GOD, Chase is going to be okay!

Be sure you present the flyer to your server so that a portion of your total check will go directly to PLS&R. Remember, your ticket will not count towards the fundraiser unless Bubba’s 33 staff knows.
